The use of academic teaming in our PLCs has helped teachers be more intentional in our planning on a daily basis. No longer are we simply placing students in groups but we are thinking about how to make learning visible with targets and success criteria, make tasks interdependent, give students roles, allow students to teach each other, and use accountable talk in teams. These skills not only lend themselves to learning in the classroom but help students hone skills transferable beyond the walls of the building.
